Latest Update on the Boom

It has been quite a week! After sending out the News Release Sunday night, which in effect put the landmark Boom Boom Room and Coast Inn up for sale, we have received several calls from interested buyers. And as a result of these contacts, I have had three meetings this week. There is a lot of concern and a lot of support for our efforts.

Additionally, we received some excellent press coverage (see links below), which is a huge help in getting the word out. One of the calls from an existing Orange County bar owner today was a direct result of one of the stories.

We will keep you updated on our progress, and please forward this and all emails out to your friends so we can find our “Knight(s) in Shining Armor” soon!

Also, at the very bottom of Cindy Frazier’s story in today’s Coastline Pilot, the Question of the Week is about SAVING the BOOM. Please take 15 seconds and fill out the comment section and be sure to put down your name and address for verification and email in. Let’s get some comments in to the paper, so that we can SAVE the BOOM – FOREVER!!!Links to some of the coverage from this week are below:

Thank you very much for all of your help, support and encouragement.

The Boom stands for what is wrong with gay men, it's all about youth, muscles, money, attitude and exclusion. Just look at the pictures. 30 years ago it was the same. Gay men treat other gay men like the locker room in junior high. The Boom was used and abused by previous owners, taking our money, giving nothing in return. Leaving the Coast Inn smelling like raw sewage and treating the quests like scum. Gee, I know I want the Boom saved...NOT.
