Several dozen demonstrators from Laguna Beach and Los Angeles will gather in front of the AIG / SunAmerica Tower, 1999 Avenue of the Stars (corner of Avenue of the Stars & Constellation Blvd.), Los Angeles, CA 90067 on Tuesday, April 1, 2008

SAVE the BOOM!!! www.savetheboom.com has been working for nearly two years to try and convince property owner, Steven Udvar-Hazy to save the landmark gay bar. Udvar-Hazy heads up International Lease Finance Corporation, a division of AIG and is the 83rd richest American, according to the latest Forbes Magazine. His net worth is listed at $3.1 billion. Udvar-Hazy bought the Boom Boom Room and Coast Inn in which it is housed in the fall of 2005. The Boom Boom Room closed after 61 years last September. It had been the oldest gay bar in the Western United States.
“We will be releasing a letter to Martin J. Sullivan, the CEO of Mr. Udvar-Hazy’s parent company asking him to help resolve this situation,” said Fred Karger, Founder of SAVE the BOOM!!! “As the head of AIG, the world’s largest insurance and financial services company, Mr. Sullivan has the absolute power to conciliate this situation. We are extremely hopeful that he will help save our gay landmark in Laguna Beach.”
